The idea of variation between interproximal contacts in molars (or OXIS classification) occurred to Dr. MS Muthu during a routine oral health examination of his daughter's teeth. A few questions raised in his mind,
- Whether the existing knowledge about interproximal contacts is true?
- If yes, is it only ‘open’ or ‘closed’ contact?
- Could there be variations in the interproximal contact areas?
